Temple touring | Siem Reap

Young girl drawing in the sand at Banteay Srei, asking for candy. Yes, she knew how to ask in Chinese. No, I don't know if she was drawing because she was bored while begging, or thought that people would be inclined to give her candy because she was drawing. Would have been a nice time to have a guide. Banteay Srei

Worth getting up early for a drive out of town to visit Banteay Srei. Maybe this one also gets busier later in the day, but even at the relatively late hour of...7:30, maybe? there were only about 6-8 other tourists.

Pra Rup temple is one of the "alternate" sunset-viewing temples. Still extremely busy, and it turns on the sunset over the trees is pretty much nothing to look at...it's the colors on the temple itself that are way more beautiful.

Uh, some old temple. This the problem with seeing 27 temples in one day (or 6? I lost count), combined with a lack of "overview" shots. Can't remember what all these details are.

Only a couple of these are actually Angkor Wat, but all from the main Angkor region. 20121218_angkor_passagewayreliefs2_800Z.jpg

These costumed children were paid to take photos with tourists at Bayon temple. It's a pretty ridiculous scene, especially how instantly the kids' expressions & posture changes between photos.
