The Buddhist Missionary Society is in the process of purchasing a new building for its temple. As of now, large events like Thingyan are held at nearby P.S. 222. The monks have their own table, people still pray around it and serve them throughout their meal, but the atmosphere is decidedly different than the more formal temple in Brooklyn.
