I'd asked the shopkeeper out of curiosity how the doyo—a traditional Dayak fabric made from beaten bark—was made. He ended up coercing this girl—possibly his sister—into demonstrating for me. She didn't want to, was giggling uncomfortably the whole time, which in turn made me uncomfortable, and by the time this lovely woman came over to give her weaving advice, I practically begged them to stop the demo and let her go back to watching TV.
